Salesforce announced a $1.6B, three-year contract from the VA to deploy its government cloud and AI-agent product line, wiring together cross-department data and administrative workflows (Salesforce press release, Jul 24). The VA serves over 17 million veterans and delivered more than 82 million direct-care outpatient visits in 2025. Single-company self-announcement; contract details per the official release. The magnitude itself is the signal: government procurement of AI agents has moved from pilots into billion-dollar territory.
