Uber opens ChatGPT Work to 30,000+ staff; usage is unknown
OpenAI says Uber is opening ChatGPT Work to more than 30,000 employees after a 1,000-person pilot, with no results published

Why it matters: OpenAI calls this Uber's first company-wide knowledge-work agent deployment. Neither company has published usage or results.
OpenAI announced on October 22 that Uber is opening ChatGPT Work from a 1,000-person pilot to more than 30,000 employees, with GPT-6.1 Sol as the default model and engineering teams staying on Codex (OpenAI, 2026-10-22). Both figures are access numbers, and both companies say measurable results will be shared later.
Not proven yet: 30,000+ is the number of employees given access, not active users How we checked →
Judgment update: No new call from SecondSource today. The next thing to watch is the figures both companies say they will share later: what share of the 30,000-plus actually use ChatGPT Work each week, and whether engineering teams run another vendor's agents alongside Codex.
