Cambricon's revenue rises 106.76%; figures are relayed

As relayed, Chinese AI-chip company Cambricon's revenue for the first three quarters was RMB 9.526 billion, up 106.76% year on year, and third-quarter operating cash flow was negative. Cambricon designs AI accelerator chips and is listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Compute King, an X account that relays Chinese compute news, posted the original text of the third-quarter report: third-quarter "operating revenue of RMB 3.531 billion, up 104.47% year on year," and "net operating cash flow for the quarter of RMB -83.6779 million" (SecondSource's translation from the Chinese; Compute King, 2026-10-23). Second-quarter revenue was RMB 3.111 billion, so the third quarter was about 13.5% above the second (our calculation). The figures haven't been checked against the original filing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Gross margin, inventory, receivables and the reason cash flow turned negative aren't in the relay. Our reading: demand for Cambricon's AI chips now shows up as booked revenue. Third-quarter revenue rose 104.47% year on year but only about 13.5% over the second quarter. Negative third-quarter operating cash flow could come from rising inventory or rising receivables. Only the original filing can show which. How we checked →
