ASML says planned supply falls short for two years
ASML's 6-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission says its currently planned capacity will not fully meet customer demand in either 2027 or 2028. ASML also says it is studying adding capacity beyond the 30% expansion it announced earlier. The original: "we now expect that our supply as currently planned for both 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet the demand of our customers" (ASML 6-K press release, 2026-10-14). The same document reports third-quarter net sales of €11.7B, a gross margin of 57.5% and full-year guidance of €44B to €45B. Our October 14 issue covered the order fill rate that analyst Sravan Kundojjala calculated himself. What is new today is ASML writing a two-year supply gap for 2027 and 2028 into a statutory filing. One detail doesn't match: the press release says 113 new systems were sold in the quarter, while Kundojjala wrote 121, and the reason for the gap hasn't been checked. "Orders booked out to 2029 and 2030" isn't in the press release text and still comes only from the analyst. How we checked →
