Tenstorrent raises US$1.5 billion for volume production

Tenstorrent, the AI chip company Jim Keller runs as CEO, raises US$1.5 billion at a US$6.2 billion post-money valuation

Why it matters: Tenstorrent now has money for volume production. The only Galaxy shipment and customer figures so far are self-reported by CEO Jim Keller, from a June interview. We make no call on this item yet.

Tenstorrent announced in its official newsroom on October 19 that it closed a US$1.5 billion Series E at a US$6.2 billion post-money valuation. Investors Trace Capital and Innovation X led, with Fidelity, Morgan Stanley and ARK Invest participating (Tenstorrent newsroom, 2026-10-19). The press release says the money goes to "volume manufacturing and global commercial expansion." The release names two uses. One is deploying Tenstorrent's Galaxy servers. The other is licensing AI and CPU design IP to customers who design their own chips, with Samsung and LG named. Galaxy is Tenstorrent's data-center server. In a June interview with EE Times, Keller said Tenstorrent was building 1,000 Galaxy servers, more than half already sold, with 10 customers using them (EE Times via Tenstorrent newsroom, 2026-06-25).
