AWS's November 2 weekly roundup says OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra is generally available on Amazon Bedrock, priced at least 50% below GPT-6.1 Sol.

Its quality rests only on OpenAI's own evaluation, which no one else has repeated. Bedrock is AWS's platform that lets companies use models from several providers through one interface. GPT-6 Astra is the flagship of the GPT-6 family, and Terra is the model meant for everyday work; the roundup doesn't say where GPT-6.1 Sol fits. According to the roundup, Terra's input and output prices are at least 50% lower than both GPT-6.1 Sol and the previous-generation GPT-5.6 Terra. Terra reads up to 1 million input tokens and can also read images. The roundup gives no absolute per-token prices. The roundup relays OpenAI's own results on Agents' Last Exam, a test of whether a model can complete multi-step tasks. On it, Terra scores 15 percentage points above GPT-5.6 Terra, matches GPT-6 Astra, and finishes tasks more than 3 times as fast as both. Daniel Abib, the roundup's author, notes that these are OpenAI's numbers, not independent tests, and the roundup gives neither the raw scores nor how speed was measured (AWS weekly roundup, 2026-11-02). The AWS launch announcement the roundup links to is dated October (AWS launch announcement); the roundup doesn't give the exact day. How we checked →
